Word Tip - Assigning a Shortcut Key to a Symbol

If you find yourself using the same symbol within Word regularly, instead of having to insert the symbol each time via the Symbols dialog box, try this time saving tip of assigning a shortcut key...

Click the Insert tab, choose Symbol, then More Symbols.

The Symbol dialog box will appear. Choose the symbol you want to assign the shortcut to, then click Shortcut Key to display the Customize Keyboard dialog box. Press the shortcut key you wish to use (ensuring they are not already used by Word for a different command) and click Assign. Click Close and the shortcut key can now be used as required.
