90-minute Sprint Sessions

Designed to suit all schedules, our sprint sessions are 90 minutes long and can be delivered online or face to face (when permitted). 1, 2 or 3 sessions can be delivered within the same day.

The Basics

This session is designed for those who wish to acquire the basic skills to use Excel effectively. It would benefit anyone wishing to learn the basics of creating spreadsheets.

Introduction to formulae and functions

Learn to become an effective user of Excel and to get the best out of your data with this session. You’ll learn how to create different types of calculations using formulae and functions and how to fix or leave them moveable.

Managing larger spreadsheets with Views & Printing

Unlike other apps such as Word, what you see on the screen doesn’t necessarily mean it will print out the same. In this session we look at everything to do with setting up your spreadsheets for printing, as well as different views and settings to help when working with larger spreadsheets.

Named Ranges

Cells are usually referred to by their cell reference, e.g. A1, B7. However, it can sometimes make more sense to give a cell or cells a name. In this session we look at how naming cells makes formulae a lot clearer as well as making it a lot easier when selecting cells, moving around a worksheet and printing.

Introduction to Statistical, Math and Logical Functions

In this session we will look at the popular COUNTIF, SUMIF and IF functions to perform calculations that meet a given criteria.

Working with Data Lists

This session is designed for those who work with lists and need to manipulate and extract data by using various Excel tools.

Linking and Consolidating Worksheets

This session looks at working across multiple sheets bygrouping sheets, calculating using cells from different sheets,as well ascreatinga summary of multiple data sheets.

Protection (1 hour)

Applying protection to cells, sheets or entire workbooks, can help stop other users from entering or editing data as well as opening the file.

Charts and Sparklines

Deciding which data to chart needs careful thought as it is easy to produce charts which really mean very little and not what you intended at all. In this session you’ll learn about the variety of charts and sparklines available in Excel and how to format and customise them.

Analyse data using PivotTables

The PivotTable feature is one of the most sophisticated components in Excel and can be described as a dynamic summary report generated from a database. In this session you’ll learn how to use PivotTables to manipulate data, large or small in size and transform it into a meaningful presentation of data.

Conditional Formatting

This session will teach you the process of Conditional Formatting, i.e. formatting cells based on a set condition (rule). When the condition in the cell is met, the cell takes on a specific pre-defined format, which makes Conditional Formatting a good way of visualizing Excel data.

Working with Dates and Time

Spreadsheets containing dates are popular and quite often calculations will need to be performed using dates. In this session will we look at automating formulae using various date & time functions.

Create formulae using the VLOOKUP function

This sessions teaches you how to use the VLOOKUP function to find a value in an Excel list or table. Using VLOOKUP is similar to looking up a person’s name in a telephone book to get a telephone number. VLOOKUP looks at a value in one column and finds its corresponding value on the same row in another column.

Advanced Statistical, Math and Logical Functions

In this session we will look at popular functions that perform calculations that meet multiple conditions.

Advanced LOOKUP Functions

In this session we will look at the popular INDEX and MATCH functions to perform advanced lookups, as well as the new XLOOKUP function that comes with Office 365.

Advanced Pivot Tables and Dashboards

This session covers the more advanced features of using Pivot Tables to manipulate data as well as creating eye-catching dashboards.

Import and Clean Data

In this session we look at how to import data into Excel from external sources and the tools available to help “clean up” the data.

Data Management

In this session we look at how to control and restrict data being entered into an Excel list using Data Validation. We will also look at how to locate and fix errors in a worksheet by using the formula auditing tools.

Dynamic Array Formulas

This session introduces you to the powerful Excel 365 Dynamic Array Formulas.
