  • Typical format and techniques
  • Using a Wasp interview structure

Session 4 – Creating the Question

Learn how to:

  • How questions are created
  • Are the questions relevant to the job?
  • Deciding on positive and negative indicators
  • General to specific
  • Allowing enough time for the questions
  • Preparing candidates for the interview: the Star technique

Session 5 – Acquiring Evidence

Learn how to:

  • Opening the interview
  • Basic interviewing skills
  • Active listening
  • Open and closed
  • Summarising
  • Controlling the interview
  • Reading body language
  • Closing the interview

Session 6 – Making the Selection

Learn how to:

  • Unconscious bias
  • Evaluating and rating evidence
  • Using a rating scale

Session 7 – Skills Practice

Learn how to:

  • Trying out the skills described in the morning session in threes. Feedback on what
    you do well and what you could do differently
  • Practising skills of interviewer, note taker and observer

Session 8 – Analysing the Interview

Learn how to:

  • Making notes
  • Making a shortlist
  • Making a final offer
  • Dealing with unsuccessful applicants

Session 9 – Assessing your Ability

Learn how to:

  • Look at what you have learnt
  • How to improve your skills

Session 10 – Close

How we deliver

Training can be delivered at your offices in either of the following ways:

  • Online

    Online training is ideal if you have staff in different geographical locations who have the same Microsoft or Adobe training requirements.

    Our expert trainers can deliver Watch and Learn sessions to up to 100 people. Alternatively, they can produce an interactive session that allows delegates to complete practical exercises within the Microsoft or Adobe apps of your choosing.

  • Face to face

    Choose from one or half day training sessions or our popular 90-minute Sprint sessions, which can be delivered in your offices or at another location of your choice.

    All we need is a room with a table and chairs and we look after the rest. We can even provide laptops and a projector should you not have spare IT equipment to use.
