Our Assertive Communication Skills course teaches you how to communicate more confidently, assertively and influentially. Learn how to make your voice heard and to better understand your communication style and how it may impact on others.

You’ll develop the skills and confidence to assert your opinions and proposals in a way that is accepted by the listener. If you struggle to make your voice heard this course will help you to understand your own communication style better and how it may impact on others. You’ll learn communication and influencing tools to help present your case as well as preparing you for when the challenges come. This workshop is also valuable for those who are confident in asserting their opinions but would like to do it in a more effective, motivating way.

Note: This is the standard course outline. For in-house training we can tailor the content to fit your organisation’s specific needs.

As part of the workshop you’ll be asked to bring along a scenario that you are prepared to discuss. This scenario should be an example of a communication / influencing occasion at work that did not go as planned for you. Whether you did not achieve your desired outcome or you encountered hostility or conflict. This scenario will form the basis of their journey for the workshop, we will reflect and build on it throughout the day.

  • Remove defensiveness when overcoming objections

Managing Conflict

Learn about:

  • The main causes of conflict
  • Responding to open hostility
  • Responding to observed hostility

Reaching Agreement

Learn about:

  • Types of close – Assumptive, Alternate, Columbo

How We Deliver

We currently deliver all training online to comply with the Government's guidelines.

Online training works well for businesses whose staff are mainly working from home.

It allows us to train all of your staff with the same training needs at the same time. Your people simply log on from home, using details provided in advance by our team.

Choose from Watch and Learn sessions for larger groups or interactive hands on sessions for smaller groups.

When permitted we also offer face to face training at your offices.

All sessions can be customised to a half day or 90 minute sprint session and tailored to fit your needs, covering the topic(s) within a course that are most important to your business.
